Effective treatment for wrinkles, fine lines and acne scars

This new treatment makes use of the ResurFX laser by Lumenis. This device is a state of the art machine for skin resurfacing.

What is ResurFX?

The ResurFX laser is currently the only non-ablative fractional laser on the market. Fractional lasers can work in one of two ways. An ablative laser removes skin and requires a longer downtime and healing process. By contrast, a non-ablative laser, like the ResurFX, penetrates into the skin and coagulates the target tissue. After this process, the body’s natural healing process removes the affected tissue. The result is faster healing with less redness and swelling.

Who Can Benefit From ResurFX?

Anyone with skin problems can potentially be helped with this treatment. Here is a list of conditions in which ResurFX is typically used.

What can I expect?

The treatment will give a warm, tingling feeling but should not be painful or uncomfortable. A typical session varies in length depending on your individual needs, but a typical session will be between 15-30 minutes long. Although a non-ablative laser is much more gentle than its ablative counterpart, you may still experience some redness and swelling. This should go away within a day or so.

After a treatment, you will be asked to avoid direct sunlight for a short period of time while the skin is healing. You may see results after the first session, but optimal results occur after 3-5 sessions. You can return for subsequent treatments after a few weeks.
