The procedure takes approximately 1 to 2 hours, depending on the complexity and type of Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty).
This procedure is done under local anesthesia. You will not feel any pain during the procedure.
The pain after the procedure differs for each patient, but Paracetamol will suffice in most cases.

This type of eyelid Surgery is performed for the parts above the eye; mainly done for hanging / sagging eyelids. The location of the incision is in the crease of the eye.
Lower Eyelid Surgery
This type of eyelid surgery is performed for the parts below the eye; particularly the removal of eye bags. The location of the incision is right below the lower eyelashes.
Anesthesia
The procedure is done under local anesthesia. You will not feel anything during the procedure.
Location of the procedure
An Eyelid surgery is a surgical procedure which will be done in a sterile environment. The surgery will take place at OCP Medical Center at the luxurious Fairmont Hotel Dubai, in our fully equipped procedure room. After the surgery you will be fully taken care of in a relaxing room and enjoy the amenities.
After the procedure
The Plastic Surgeon will assess your condition after the procedure, but usually you can go home after the procedure. The pain after the procedure differs for each patient, but Paracetamol will suffice in most cases. The recovery other than that will be painless. As with any other cosmetic surgery the treated area needs time to heal. You will need to cool the treated area after the procedure to reduce swelling and bruising. You will get instructions about how to dothis. Normally, you will not look representative for about a week after the procedure.
Results
For a lower eyelid surgery (lower blepharoplasty), the incision is right below the eyelashes and hardly leaves a scar. In an upper eyelid surgery (upper blepharoplasty), the incision is right in the eye fold (crease), which means the minimal scarring due to the procedure is practically invisible. An eyelid surgery in Dubai is a highly satisfying procedure.
Risks of an Eyelid Surgery
As with most cosmetic surgeries, there is a risk of an allergic reaction to the anesthesia, disinfectants or plasters. Also, even though the procedure is done under sterile conditions, the area could be infected. Chances to this are very small though.Sometimes patients experience a disturbed healing of the wound or post-operative bleeding. This does not have to cause any negative consequences for the result of the procedure. The chance that the eye is damaged during an eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty) is extremely small. A very specific complication after a Blepharoplasty is that the skin is too tight after the procedure than wanted. Mostly this can be fixed by a small correction.
